A little bird told me that Caffé Medici, my #2 favorite Austin coffee shop (second only to Progress Coffee) will be opening its second location on the Drag very soon. Wonder what crappy national burrito chain it will replace?

If the folks at Medici know what’s good for them, #2 will stay open 24/7 and have free wi-fi for the hoards of students who will likely flock there (unlike the corporate coffee counterpart right around the corner on 24th).

Hopefully this is a signal of the reversal of the corporate-ness of this part of Austin.
